Creating a Use CaseEnterprise
Register an AI agent for governing based on its intended use in the orgnization.
Where to start
Discover Inventory
From an agent's row in the Discover inventory, open the action menu and select Register Use Case. The use case draft is created with the agent's name and description pre-filled, and the agent linked automatically.
Governance Action Center
The Action Center surfaces agents that have been identified as candidates for governance. Click Register Use Case on any suggestion to create a pre-filled draft with the agent linked.
Use Cases Board
From the Use Cases overview, use the New Use Case action to create a blank draft. You define the name and details manually or Ask Airia to help you frame the scenario, then choose agent(s) to associate.
Defining the use case
A use case is broken into four parts.
| Part | Purpose |

| Core details | Name, summary, and tags. Primarily used by approvers and reviewers navigating the governance system to identify and filter use cases. |
| Linked asset(s) | The AI agent(s) and their dependencies that implement this use case. Connecting an asset ties the use case to the platform inventory, surfacing and enabling enforcement of relevant controls across it and its dependencies. |
| Intended use | The primary input to the risk assessment. Describes how, where, and by whom the agent will be used -- business purpose, affected parties, autonomy level, deployment context, data categories, and scope boundaries. The depth of this section directly shapes the risk classifications and assessment guidance applied downstream. |
| Review policy | Optional oversight commitments: review cadence, disclaimer text, and next review date. Can be completed at any point before approval. |
These four parts make up the use case definition itself. Once defined, a Risk Profile can be created and assessed against it.
Drafts are saved automatically as you type. Drafts from Discover or the Action Center are pre-filled with your agent context, but you will still need to detail its Intended Use in your business.
Ask Airia
Open a dedicated assistant view for assistance defining the use case and starting the risk analysis. Describe the use case, or where you're stuck in natural language and the assistant will draft or refine the section's fields for you. Changes are written back to the form in real time.
The assistant works well for getting a first draft in place quickly, especially for the Intended Use section. You can return to the form at any time to manually adjust what it has filled in.
